Depending on where you live, you are likely going to come across those annoying mosquitoes. I used to live in Texas and felt I was getting eaten alive.
Did you know there was a study showing that mosquitoes tend to like those with O blood type?
Research indicates that mosquitoes may prefer individuals with blood type O. However, it’s likely that many other additional factors also play a role in a person’s attractiveness to mosquitoes. In addition to blood type, other factors like carbon dioxide, body odor, heat, and dark clothing can also attract mosquitoes. Ref: Healthline
However, certain scents help you keep those skeets away and are perfect for hanging out in the backyard, camping, and relaxing!
1. CITRONELLA
Citronella is the most well-known scent for repelling mosquitoes. Its oil is extracted from lemongrass. You’ll most often see this scent in bug sprays and candles.
Citronella effectively blocks all the olfactory senses of mosquitoes; it repels them and does not hurt them in any way. When used with other repellent methods, you can prevent bites and diseases.

2. LAVENDER
Lavender is probably one of the most loved scents; it’s also effective in repelling mosquitoes.
Using a lavender candle will help repel mosquitoes and create a zen space for you as well.

3. PEPPERMINT
Mosquitoes are not fans of minty smells, making peppermint and eucalyptus an excellent combination of repelling insects. It’s also a lovely scent that helps you relax.
